In 2023, Providence College noted an exciting but challenging trend: campus visits had surpassed pre-pandemic records, with an increasing number of prospective students and families visiting outside of official university scheduled programming. Without the ability to personally guide these visitors or collect their information, Providence College risked missing key engagement opportunities with these stealth visitors.
This session will explore the innovative solution that won Providence College a CASE award: a Spotify-powered, self-guided walking tour, integrated into their Interactive Map with Concept3D. Each stop on the tour had an individually curated track to enhance the visitor experience with audio content accessible anytime. The tour also seamlessly integrated with their Slate CRM to capture valuable prospective student data. In its first few months, the audio tour achieved over 800 Spotify downloads (1,600 YTD) and generated 285 inquiry form submissions (942 YTD) —transforming phantom visitors into leads.
Attendees will learn actionable insights on how to design a self-guided experience that leverages audio storytelling and digital platforms, integrates with existing CRM tools, and engages prospective students and their families even when they forgo a traditional university-hosted campus tour.
