The mentorship program connects CIVSA members in an effort to share ideas, receive feedback, and navigate the constantly changing higher education landscape, alongside a CIVSA peer. Members will be matched based on job responsibilities, institution size, and overall mentorship program goals to help members get the most out of these connections.

How Do I Join?

Mentorship Program applications will open May 26, 2026 and will close August 7, 2026. This application helps give us more information about you and your interests. Once you submit the application, you are automatically enrolled in the Mentorship Program and will then be matched with a Mentor or Mentee. You will receive the name and information of your Mentor or Mentee by the end of August 2026.

REQUIREMENTS

To be a mentor, you must have 2 years of professional higher education experience.

To be a mentee, you may fall into the following categories:

  • Be a CIVSA member for less than 2 years
  • Plan to attend Annual Conference for the first time
  • Seasoned professional who is new to the idea of mentorship for their professional career

COMMITMENT

We encourage pairings to touch base at least once a month. Member Relations Committee will provide a month by month timeline on what to expect, opportunities for social activities with other pairings, and tips on how to make the most of your mentorship experience.

The Program will run from September – June with once a month check-ins.
