[civsa] Dismissing Tours for Large Events

Hi Anne-
We have had some success with putting colored stickers on their welcome folder or materials. We dismiss the blue group, then yellow...etc. Depending on the group we also sometimes just ballpark the dismissal (everyone in the front right section will be going with our tour guide Jasmine out the east door- for example).

Lastly, we sometimes dismiss by student interest- for example, students who are definitely interested in the business program will leave first, and spend a bit of extra time in the business school building. Students interested in health programs go next, then arts and media, then undecided. That yields varying group sizes but helps to match tour guides with the group interests.

Hope that was somewhat helpful! Have a great day!

Subject: [civsa] Dismissing Tours for Large Events

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone has any great ways to dismiss tours for large events. For our spring events, we typically have 500 guests in each session. I hate counting people off tour tours because it feels so impersonal and unorganized (although it is the quickest and easiest way we have tried). Does anyone have an alternative method that has worked well?

Thank you for any insight you can share.
