[civsa] Recording on Tours

Hi Everyone,

My colleague who oversees housing tours (they are separate from the general campus tour here at UC Irvine) asked me for advice regarding something that happened recently and I was hoping to get some feedback from the community:

On a housing tour, the tour guide noticed that visitors were recording on their phone and felt uncomfortable because the camera seemed to be directed at her rather than at areas of campus; she was under the impression they were recording her for social media.

Has a similar situation happened at your campus? If so, how did you address it? Do you have any policies regarding filming or taking photos during the tours? Here at UCI, pictures and video are not allowed inside of the residence hall because we show off a real student's room, but otherwise, we don't have any limitations in place.

Thank you for any and all input! I hope you all are excited for fall recruitment!

Sincerely,
Kelvin
