[civsa] question about guests bringing luggage to your school...

Hi Dee, et al:
We have a significant number of people arriving directly from an airport or train, and therefore it's common for them to have luggage, heavy backpacks, laptops, etc. Much like Kanani indicated for PSU (hence this partial copy-and-paste!), we'll store the items, letting them know that while someone will always be in our office, we aren't liable for the items. We encourage them to take anything really valuable with them.
Attached is a copy of a very not-legally-binding-but-serves-the-general-purpose liability waiver we have them sign, which includes an understanding about picking their stuff up in a timely manner (i.e., so we're not staying open past closing waiting for people to return for their luggage). Once they have filled out the form and signed, we store their items in our back office. This has been working fine for us.

.... If a guest flies in for a campus visit and they don't stop by a hotel first, do you all have a place to store their luggage? Do you all refuse to store it for liability reasons? What is your office's policy on that?
