[civsa] How are your information sessions and tours set up?

Hi! We start with a 10 to 15 minute introduction before the tour, given by an Admissions Officer or Manager. Then the student tour guides take the groups around to 2 or 3 departments and it usually takes about 90 minutes. Afterwards is an informal Q&A led by an Admissions Counselor. We tell visitors they can come back for the Q&A if they have more questions, but if not they are free to leave, and can leave whenever they want to. The Q&A can last up to an hour.

We are also looking for ways to provide more student interactions. It’s tricky!

Hi Everyone,

We're looking to revamp our information sessions and tours. We get a lot of feedback saying that they're too long and there isn't enough student interaction. Currently guests can register for a 1 hour information session presented by an admissions counselor coupled with a 1.5 hour walking tour around our central campus with a current student.

I would LOVE more guest interaction with our students, but I don't want our higher ups to feel like we would be trying something that hasn't been done before. What do you do for your information sessions and tours?
