[civsa] How are your information sessions and tours set up?

Hi Dustin,
Our information session is between 30-35 minutes (depending on how many questions we get afterwards) and then the campus tour is a 1 hour walking tour. After the tour returns, we give them the option to go on a housing tour, have lunch, or go as a walk-in for a pre-admission advising meeting or they can talk to financial aid.  So the basic setup for our part is 1.5 hours total, but they can be here much longer depending on what they want to do.

As for the student interaction, the info sessions currently led by me and then they have one hour with our tour guide…

Hi Everyone,

We're looking to revamp our information sessions and tours. We get a lot of feedback saying that they're too long and there isn't enough student interaction. Currently guests can register for a 1 hour information session presented by an admissions counselor coupled with a 1.5 hour walking tour around our central campus with a current student.

I would LOVE more guest interaction with our students, but I don't want our higher ups to feel like we would be trying something that hasn't been done before. What do you do for your information sessions and tours?
