Kristen,



At Sewanee, we limit overnight visitors to seniors only and for one night
only.  They can stay on campus Sunday through Wednesday nights.
Prospective student-athletes are allowed to stay Sunday through Friday
nights but cannot stay on a Saturday night and they cannot be hosted by a
coach the night after a game, match or meet.



At Sewanee, we do require that overnight visitors and their parents sign a
consent form, if they are visiting either through the Admission Office or
Athletic Department.  This consent form was written and is updated each
year by the University’s legal counsel.  We do require our overnight hosts
and their roommates to also sign a host agreement form.  This form is also
written by legal counsel.



I’ve attached copies of both our consent form as well as our hosting
agreement form.  We do fairly extensive training for overnight hosting as
well on a yearly basis so that overnight hosts are very clear on
expectations and hosting etiquette.

Hello,

I am trying to gauge if most schools have some kind of liability paperwork
signed by overnight guests and/or their parents, along with the overnight
hosts prior to the overnight visits. If you do have said legal guidelines,
who developed them? Is it policy across campus for any overnight visitors
(various camps, athletes, etc)?



Also, are you restrictive in who you allow to stay overnight? Seniors only?
Do they have to have applied or been accepted?
