[civsa] Host Liability

Hello, 
  
For our overnight programs at Georgia Tech, our overnight programs are for seniors only in the fall and admitted students in the spring. We do have the parents of students under 18 sign a liability waiver. This is a common waiver for all of our on-campus programs. We also have policies for our overnight hosts regarding remaining on campus, attending the program sponsored social events, and not driving the students they are hosting. 
  
We have recently had discussions on our campus regarding sexual harassment/ misconduct and regulations for minors participating in campus events. Because most of our seniors are minors and they come to stay in residence hall rooms with our current students who are over 18, we have had to get a special exception for these students in terms of being alone with an "adult." 
  
We found that these policies were created to ensure the safety of younger children who were attending camps etc. on our campus. Our legal department reviews our waiver and advises on our overnight program policies.

Hello, 
I am trying to gauge if most schools have some kind of liability paperwork signed by overnight guests and/or their parents, along with the overnight hosts prior to the overnight visits. If you do have said legal guidelines, who developed them? Is it policy across campus for any overnight visitors (various camps, athletes, etc)? 
  
Also, are you restrictive in who you allow to stay overnight? Seniors only? Do they have to have applied or been accepted?
