[civsa] Shuttle Policies

Hi Jessica -- this past year Valparaiso University Admission invested in an
8-passenger gas-powered Club Car with a permanent roof and detachable
sides. We use it upon request (people who cannot walk the 1-1/2 tour route,
VIPs) or on very hot days. I worked closely with our University Police
Department and the Director of Safety here, as well as with University
Counsel. We wanted to make sure we were doing everything right BEFORE we
made the investment. We have a specific tour route that we follow. We put
drivers through behind-the-wheel training with a police officer. We
selected tourguides to have this "prestigious" position and all of our
counselors were trained. We store it in the Police Dept garage, so make
arrangements through them to pick it up and return it. The driver must
inspect the Club Car and submit the form to me; the staff member fills it
with gas when needed. We have one driver and one tourguide who sit in the
front, so the greatest number of guests we can have is 6. We do not use it
in winter.
