Liberty University operates 4 mini-bus vehicles and 1 5 passenger Club Car. We employ 19 student tour guides. The majority of these guides are 21+ years old as they are required to be insured under the universities auto insurance policy. All university approved drivers undergo online and over the road training and are required to provide a copy of their driving record.  One of the listed job qualifications is a clean driving record and the ability to provide proof of such.

The privilege of having vehicles does come with other opportunities of service as the Visitors Center receives frequent requests from other campus offices for shuttle service. To which we advise them that we have vehicles at our disposal for the main purpose of providing tours to prospective students, family members as well as VIP shuttle assistance for guests and members of university executive leadership offices.

Just be careful what you end up doing with any vehicles you are fortunate to receive for providing campus tours.

Hello CIVSA friends!

My institution is looking to start offering hybrid tours this summer with shuttles.  We are really excited to offer this new tour feature!  I am hoping you can assist with one hurdle we are facing – does your institution offer shuttle tours and if so, what polices do you have in place for tour guides to drive these?  Or do you have staff drive these instead of a tour guide?  Any information and/or documentation you use would be incredibly helpful!
