Subject: [civsa] Questions for Visitor Centers separated from admissions

Good morning CIVSA!
I hope you are having a terrific Thursday!

A few questions: For those of you who have a unique Visitor Center (in a separate location from the Admission office):

1. What are the main functions of your Visitor Center?
Greeting all guests arriving on campus
Provide parking passes to guests
Provide general campus information
Provide daily tours
Host all on campus recruiting events (large & small) from this facility

2. What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday 8:30 am - 6:00 pm
Sunday 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

3. How many campus tours do you provide each day (times of day, weekday/weekends)
Monday through Friday 9:00 am and 1:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am and 1:00 pm
Sunday 1:00 pm

4. How do you all handle parking for your guests? If guests must pay, how much is the charge? No charge

If you provide free parking, do you have a special parking lot or do you provide permits? If permits, do you give it to them the day of the visit, or do you email it to them in advance? We provide permits as guests arrive for 1 day at a time.

5. How many staff members work in the Visitor Center and what are their responsibilities?
8 full time and 20 student guides
Full time team work on logistics for visit and events with students serving as main provider of tours and event support
We host 20+ daily events throughout the year and 4 multi day (Thurs-Sun) events hosting over 10,000 guests outside of daily tours.

6. Describe the partnership (if any) between your Visitor Center and your admission office.
The Visitors Center is part of the Resident Enrollment Management office.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Dee Lambert
