[civsa] Out of State Student Receptions

Good afternoon,

We do host out of state dinners and receptions.

We will host them at hotels, restaurants, banquet facilities, etc. Whatever works best and for the best price.

Here is a typical agenda:
Welcome
Students introduce themselves - say where they attend high school and intended major
Dinner
Guest speaker - if our president is in the area, he will speak to the group.
Presentation

*         Prospective student presentation would cover admissions process, housing, student life, etc.

*         Admitted student presentation would cover next steps in the admissions process, what to expect when they get to campus, etc.
Question / Answer
Thank everyone for attending and conclusion

Depending on location, we generally invite enough to have about 40-50 students, plus one guest to attend.

Our yield for these events is really good, especially for the admitted student receptions. I would have to research and get you numbers later.

I'm wondering if any of you host out of state student receptions for either prospective students or admitted students.  If so, what's the agenda look like?  What types of locations do you host the events at (i.e. restaurant, hotel, etc.)?  What's your typical capacity for each event?  What's your normal yield for the event?
