[civsa] Group interview questions/activity help

This year our group process is going to be about items you would need to take on an island, but each person is given a persona (mom, religious leader...). Attached is both the facilitator guide and the evaluation form.

Hi Hillary,

This is the first year we're doing group interviews, too. Here's an activity that may work for you as well. We're planning to ask candidates to take 3 minutes to reflect on their personal strengths, how they will apply those strengths to the position or why these strengths will make them a successful tour guide. Then, they will share these strengths with their group. Finally, as a group, the candidates will create the perfect tour guide by combining their individual strengths and presenting it to our evaluators who are veteran tour guides. We've provided a paper doll cut out for the students to name, decorate and record the perfect guide's strengths. This will help us evaluate the fit of the candidate, their personal strengths, how they interact in a group setting, and their public speaking style.

We have two other activities they'll rotate through, an elevator pitch, where each will answer why they chose to attend our college and a mock tour, where they will select a tour stop/location at random and then share about it. While they're talking about the location, our veteran guides will interrupt them and ask questions to simulate a real tour experience.

Happy Friday!

We are holding group interviews for our new tour guides on Monday and Tuesday of next week and are panicking last minute thinking of questions since we have never done group interviews, only individual. Each interview will have three potential candidates in it and will last 30 minutes.

I am trying to think of an activity to start them off with to see how well they work together as a team, does anyone have any suggestions?
