[civsa] Showing Residence Hall Rooms!

Hello Danae,

At Ohio State we have one "show room" that we show on all of our campus tours. The room is within the residence hall closes to where we start and end tours and our Housing department does not charge us for the room. In the summer, when the residence hall is not full of students, they give us a second room to help with the increased volume of visitors. Our campus has three different styles of rooms, so we highlight the other two styles with a diagram that the tour guides explain when they visit the show room.

On large event days, we work with Housing to have current residents volunteer to show off their own rooms during our tours. We make sure guests cannot view rooms without being escorted by a tour guide on these days, and the student living in the room has to be present the entirety of the tour.

Lastly, for admitted students, we offer one event in the spring that only shows of Residence Halls. We show off 10 different buildings and Housing takes on the majority of the work for this. It is an invite only event, but does not provide any admissions information. We do this in hopes that students taking up seats at our admitted events who really only care about the residence hall can attend this instead and not fill up the admitted event which only shows off one residence hall.
