We, in the Admission Center at the University of Southern California, are doing some data collecting and would really appreciate your feedback on the following questions.

1.       What is the name of your college/university?

Stanford University

2.       What is the size of your school?

~ 7000 UG/9200 GRAD

3.      How many student tour guides/ambassadors do you have on staff?

Academic year 60-80 guides (paid); Summer: 5-8 FT guides and numerous part-time

(3 year-round FTE)

4.       How many annual visitors do you see?

Last year: 99,000+ tour registrants; ~150,000 visitors

5.       Is your Visitor/Welcome center a standalone building?

Yes

6.       Is your Visitor/Welcome center named?

No ("Stanford Visitor Center")

7.       Are there other departments in your Visitor/Welcome center building?

No (Visitor Information Services (VIS) only, as a unit of "Office of Undergraduate Admission, Financial Aid, and VIS"

8.       What is the square footage of your Visitor/Welcome center?

~3500 sf (~3000sf public/office space; ~500sf lofted student lounge and storage space)

Our space is a building that was converted/renovated in 2010 from its prior use as a retail space (and prior to that a residence for athletes)
