[civsa] Compensating students on an ad hoc basis

Hello! We are struggling with how we can hire students who are not already on payroll to work one-day events for us (such as a panel discussion or a student webinar). We’ve been told we can’t purchase gift cards for them, but having them sign up for payroll seems to involve a lot of paperwork and hassle for short 1-day events where they would get about $20-$25.

Do any of you have this problem, and/or do you have an easy solution for compensating students for short-term work?
