[Campus Tours]

Hi Danae,

Here at GGC, we have seen an increase in request for 5th grade group visits. Typically, we offer them a more generic tour of the campus, where we emphasize the more fun aspects of college (honestly, everything seems awesome to them on a college campus). We also have a info session with them, where we cover the importance of attending college while sharing a few tidbits about the college itself. This also gives them the opportunity to ask any questions they may have, which are typically a lot.

Moving forward, I am planning on offering these tours during a specific time frame so it does not take away from us being able to offer a group tour to a high school group. I will be reviewing this all over the summer, so I am interested in what others are doing as well. I love the idea of the scavenger hunt that  others have mentioned.

Hello CIVSA folks!
  Our office was recently assigned the task of planning and facilitating all Youth (K-5th) and Middle School (6th- 8th) on campus visits. We are now in the process of building a Youth/ Middle School group visits program and researching best practices for what is and is not offered to visitors in these age categories, at different institutions.
I was wondering if any of you currently cover Youth/ Middle School campus visits and if so, what sorts of activates/ tours do you offer to groups in these age ranges?  Also, do you have different criteria or expectation contracts for younger groups?

Any help would be much appreciate!
