Hi Dustin!

At The University of Toledo we follow the agenda below:

Monday-Friday
10:00am Admission overview presentation given by an Admission Coordinator covering the “business” (scholarships, applying, next steps, financial aid).
10:30am Tour lead by student tour guides
12:00pm Lunch (tour guides stay for lunch and mingle with guests)
1:15pm Optional college an departmental appointments to sit down with the college or department of interest (these typically last about an hour, and student tour guides will walk families to these appointments if requested).
2:30pm Admission presentation (same as 10:00am session)
3:00pm Tour (same as 10:30am)

Students can choose to opt for any piece of this daily schedule, so for example they can come for the morning info session, tour, lunch and 1:15pm appointment. Or, 1:15pm appointment, presentation, tour. Whatever they choose we accommodate.

Saturdays:
11:15am presentation given by Admission Coordinator
11:45am tour given by student tour guides (hour and a half walking tour)

I hope this information is helpful! We love to have our students interact with guests as much as possible (during daily visit programs, large recruitment events and regional events) and it has a very positive impact on the visit experience.

Thanks!

Subject: [civsa] How are your information sessions and tours set up?

Hi Everyone,

We're looking to revamp our information sessions and tours. We get a lot of feedback saying that they're too long and there isn't enough student interaction. Currently guests can register for a 1 hour information session presented by an admissions counselor coupled with a 1.5 hour walking tour around our central campus with a current student.

I would LOVE more guest interaction with our students, but I don't want our higher ups to feel like we would be trying something that hasn't been done before. What do you do for your information sessions and tours?

Thank you!

Dustin
