[civsa] Student Ambassador Training

Howdy all from Portland,
As for friendly competitions, we've created a game called "Tour Drills"
where teams of ambassadors compete to answer a difficult question or
present a space on their tour route or campus. Winners are selected from
the coordinators and professional staff by who answers with the best and
most creative 30 second response. We usually play a few rounds at a time.
We've used departments, buildings, difficult parent questions and emergency
situations on tours to get them thinking on their feet.
It is quite fun and the team loves playing it. Winning teams get bragging
points or small treats.
As for training our ambassadors, we actually transitioned to a class model
for both Orientation Leaders and Student Ambassadors. Then we have shorter
trainings for our summer crew and a full fall training to get them ready.
I've attached the syllabus if anyone is interested.
Cheers,
Nicholas
