I'd like to piggy back off of this and ask what friendly competitions (if any) do you have during training for small groups/mentor groups?
Happy almost TGIF!

Good afternoon!
Our Fall Ambassador Training has slight variations from year to year, but it mainly follows this schedule (sorry for the lack of grammar below):
* Welcome Back Dinner
* (next day) Opening Workshop - ice breaker (we have 30-40 Ambassadors each year); setting expectations, rules, requirements, paperwork, *boring but necessary stuff*, go over tour script/route, marketing/sales/people skills, storytelling practice!
* 3-4 days of tour practice and coverage of special topics related to being an Ambassador (awkward faq's, time management, tour content, storytelling, etc); our Ambassadors are split into small groups/teams with one experienced Ambassador who serves as their Team Leader; each day the teams get together to practice their tour (my experience has shown that they learn best by actually doing the tour); doesn't matter what time - our Ambassadors are involved in A LOT especially in August (fall athletics, orientation, res life...), so I tell them that I don't care when they practice (can be the middle of the night if needed!), but they need to practice each day; I believe this also gives our Team Leaders an opportunity for leadership development
* Team Building activities (scavenger hunts, ropes course, etc)
* Final Tour Evaluation with me and our Intern; I take small groups of Ambassadors out and they give me and our Intern a tour; that evaluation determines if they are able to sign-up for tours in the fall semester
Training continues throughout the year with monthly meetings, periodic check-in evaluations, and special field trips! Hope this helps!

Good Morning!
I am working on planning our training that is coming up in a few weeks and trying to get ideas to make it different. I have all the ambassadors (new and old) come to the training, so trying to make it different each year is challenging. I am interested to know what works for your ambassador trainings that has been successful for your students!
Does anyone have ideas or training manuals to share?
Thank you & enjoy your day!
