[civsa] Social Media on tours

Kate,
Two years ago we asked visiting students to "check-in" on Facebook at our Covenant Stone during their campus tour. We even offered a fun t-shirt that said, "I checked in while checking out Maryville College." It fell flat, so we stopped that effort. We have also implemented a hashtag at events, and offered a bookstore gift certificate for the best picture. Unfortunately, we've had minimal participation in that also. I'd love to hear about social media efforts that have worked! And sorry to be a Debbie downer!

Hi CIVSA friends,

Happy "Hump" Day! Do any of you incorporate social media into your tours? By this I mean, do your tour stop at a certain location where selfies/tweeting/instagraming is encouraged? Or do incorporate it in some other way? Can you share your ideas and processes? My director heard about this at a conference and wants to see if we can build this into our tours. Thanks!!
