Hello! We just implemented a group interview system at UT Arlington last year and have hired some really great Tour Guides as a result.

Interviewees are divided into groups and rotate through three stations: Public Speaking, Tour Planning, and Team Building. Current Tour Guides conduct each station and evaluate applicants. I've attached the rubrics that we use. When each group has completed all three stations, we meet to discuss each applicant and decide who to ask back for an individual interview. Individual interviews are conducted by one professional staff and one TG Captain.

Good Morning Everyone,

In a few weeks we are hosting our very first group interview for those that want to be a tour guide for next year. At the group interview we are going to split them in a smaller group and then do a few different activities to see how they respond to situations and scenarios that we put them in, see how they communicate with one another, etc.

I want to have my head tour guides be inside each group and assist in evaluating the prospective guides. Do any of you have a sheet or anything like that that you use to evaluate the prospective guides? (Hopefully that question makes sense). But if you could share anything that you have that you use to evaluate prospective guides during your group interview process it would be greatly appreciated. Have a good day everyone!
