Hello everyone,
Happy Holidays from Rutgers University - New Brunswick! I wanted to see if anyone had any insights they could share about offering both 'academic/school focused' tours and 'general university tours.'
Some of our individual schools will be collaborating with us this spring to build an academic focus onto our general tour. For example, the Rutgers Business School Tour will consist of our Admissions Information Session, Student Panel Presentation, and our Campus Bus Tour along with a stop at the Business School for an extended facility tour, a small 'majors fair,' and sessions with faculty and deans.
In addition to these more specialized tours, we'll be offering our general university tours on our typical 3-day a week schedule. ( These tours consist of an Admissions Info Session, Student Panel, and Walking Tour or Bus Tour).
Does anyone out there have any experience offering both academically focused and general tours? Do you find that one fills way more quickly than another? Do visitors get confused by their options? How does having a seemingly de-centralized structure affect perceptions/understanding of the institution?
Thank you all! If you want to email me directly, you can absolutely do so at crosby at admissions.rutgers.edu<mailto:crosby at admissions.rutgers.edu>.
Best,
Emily Crosby
