[civsa] Campus Tour and Housing Tours

Hi Rachel,

We work with our tours in a couple of ways.

* Campus Tours - 90 minutes and include viewing 1 Residence Hall. We use a central, single-sex hall that makes it an easy stop on the Campus Tour. There is a brother-hall across the lawn, so it's easy to communicate

* Residence Hall Tour - 45 minutes and includes 3 additional Residence Halls. 1 new co-ed residence hall, 1 older co-ed residence hall, and 1 suite-style residence hall.

Our Residence Hall Tour is offered once a day, positioned between our 2 Campus Tours so that we can get people from both the morning and afternoon visits. This is the 3rd year that I offered a Residence Hall Tour and people really like the option to see even more options.

I worked with our Res Life office in the planning stages and for updated info, but they are run through our office and led by our Student Ambys. We encourage it to be just senior families to keep the tour sizes manageable, but we always get younger visitors too. Since we do show a Res Hall on our standard campus tour, some of the morning people will just not show up to their Res Hall Tour after seeing the one already.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.

Subject: [civsa] Campus Tour and Housing Tours

Good morning,

Would you please share if your institution separates the campus tour portion from the housing tour portion for prospective students?
If separate:

* What are the hours those housing tours are offered?

* How long does the housing tour take?

* Do guests register separately from the campus tour to see the residence hall?

* Does Housing exclusively facilitate operating these tours (registration, hiring, scheduling etc.)?

* How long have the tours been separate? Has there been positive or negative feedback?

If not separate:

* Do you work with Housing to streamline the visit experience?

* How long does the campus tour and residence hall tour take to complete?

Any and all feedback is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Rachel
