Hi Matt,
Here at the UA Transfer students are welcome to join our daily Ambassador Tours. There is a specific slide and information that pertains to transferring to UA. Also, all of the counselors have knowledge of the transfer process and can answer questions. The tour is more general but seems a little Freshman focused.
To help combat this, the Transfer Team has trained our own Transfer CAT Delegates who are able to give more transfer specific tours. Some of the things that make this tour different are the facilities that we visit (i.e. Parking and Transportation, study areas, the Transfer Student Center) and the topics that are discussed (i.e. off-campus housing, great areas of campus to study or relax, ways to get involved as a transfer student). This Transfer focused tour is held on Saturday's once per month and has had great registration and turn-out.
The transfer team also hosts Transfer Specific events on and off campus for students interested in transferring to UA. Also, in collaboration with Scott Kirkessner, the Transfer team has joined our flagship visit program, Arizona Experience, to assist in creating a holistic program for every potential student, Freshman or Transfer alike. This partnership has been extremely beneficial to the Transfer Team and for our transfer students.

We've tried several Transfer-specific Preview Days, but couldn't get much of a turnout. The feedback we've received indicates that transfer students care more about what credits transfer and how much it's going to cost, and we have found that those questions are better answered during individual visits.

At Valpo, our Director and Associate Director of Transfer Enrollment meet with transfer students for daily visits. We do not have separate tour guides for them.
At Visit Days, transfer students are welcome to attend. Our Director and Associate Director of Transfer Enrollment meet with them in a separate room just off of the main dining hall during lunch to chat and answer any questions they have.

Good Morning, CIVSA!
Background:
At Iowa State University we have historically had two separate open house events, one program for transfer students and a separate program for first year students. We have included both of these students populations in our "daily visit" programs which happen when are not hosting our open house events.
A few questions:
1) Do you separate these students into separate visit days? If so, what are the pros/cons that you have experienced?
2) Do you host everybody, any day they want to come? If so, how do you make the experience different for transfer students and first year students.
3) Do you have separate tour groups or ambassadors for transfer students and firs year students? If so, how are they the same and how are they different (responsibilities, tours, etc.)
Any suggestions or thoughts you have relating to transfer students and their campus visit experience would be helpful.
