[civsa] Tours and Meal tickets/vouchers

Sherry,

I'm Hannah from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington State (Go
Hawks!). I thought I would respond to this one because it has been
something we have had a lot of discussion around this year in our office.

We require all of our athletic recruits to come through the Admission
Office at some point and take a tour from one of our trained student
guides. Previously current athletes were giving them and we kept hearing
stories about poor messaging and misguided information, so we asked to take
those over. Our recruits also cannot pick up their lunch passes until they
come through our office. We are more than willing to pay for the recruit
and his/her families meals, but did not want to feed the football team that
just wanted to share their current student perspectives...they certainly
were not there for the free lunch...

The rest of the day and schedule is up to the coach. Some teams have a more
hands on approach to the visit, other coaches are comfortable with the day
we plan for the recruit as long as they get face time at some point during
the day.
