Good Morning Brooke!  Here is a sample of my CVC job description. Although, it is not the only position I hold I hope this helps.


Campus Visit Coordinator


Classification: Support staff
Status: Full-time
Reports to: Director of Admissions
Supervises: student workers


Position Summary:
The Campus Visit Coordinator is responsible for welcoming and assisting guests and visitors to the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices and provides administrative support to the Director of Admissions.


Job Functions:
1.      Greet, direct, and assist campus guests and visitors to the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices in a professional, welcoming, and hospitable manner.
2.      Answer all incoming calls for the Admissions Office, providing information or forwarding calls to the proper person in an appropriate and pleasant manner.
3.      Schedule campus visits.
4.      Screen calls and visitors for the Director of Admissions.
5.      Manage the calendar of the Director of Admissions, scheduling appointments as appropriate.
6.      Prepare meeting and/or briefing materials.
7.      Maintain Admissions workstudy and/or student ambassador listservs for efficient communication.
8.      Prepare documents and reports for external and internal distribution.
9.      Prepare for, schedule, and create agendas, minutes, and communications for staff meetings and committee meetings.
10.  Help with general office needs, providing support and assistance to other Admissions and Financial Aid staff as needed.
11.  Train and supervise workstudy students.
12.  Assist in the staffing of Admissions functions.
13.  Assist with other responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.


Position Qualifications:
The Campus Visit Coordinator will have completed a high school diploma or GED and at least three year of applicable experience.  The following skills and abilities are necessary:

  1.  Excellent communication skills, particularly interpersonal skills
  2.  Organizational skills
  3.  Computer skills, especially MS Outlook
  4.  Ability to work independently and amid distractions.

Hello CIVSA!

Currently, we have 6 student workers who work in our office and schedule all of our campus visitors. While I LOVE working with students...it isn't always the best service to our prospective students because it is virtually impossible to communicate all of the details and keep everyone on the same page. I am exploring the idea of hiring a full-time Campus Visit Coordinator to take over this task. HR needs a job description to grade the position and determine pay/qualifications/etc. Does anyone currently use this model and have a sample job description they can provide?
