SUMMARY:CIVSA Connections: Work/Life Balance – taking care of yourself and your staff
DESCRIPTION:This has been a hard year for everyone\, and if you supervise staff you’ve probably spent a lot of time trying to offer support and understanding to them. But\, have you done the same for yourself? Take some time to chat with professional CIVSA peers and learn more about self-care\, mental health tips\, and tips for supporting staff and colleagues. Please feel free to share ways your team has helped you try to maintain a strong balance of life and work as well! We are not mental health professionals\, and encourage you to seek additional help as needed\, but hope we can connect on a more personal level and share what has worked for us. \nWe kindly ask that you limit your Connections registrations to one session per month so as many members as possible will be able to join the discussion. Register using the link below. Zoom link will be emailed to you the day prior to the chat.

SUMMARY:Region 4 Chat: Spring Event Planning
DESCRIPTION:The discussion will focus on the makeup of spring events\, admitted student day formats\, and anything else you feel is pertinent for discussion. In order to foster more in-depth conversations\, we will make use of breakout rooms to divide the group into small (<5\,000 students)\, medium (5\,000-15\,000 students)\, and large (>15\,000 students) size schools. We will then divide those groups into those that will be hosting virtual events and those doing in-person. The goal is to provide a space for robust discussion and brainstorming among similar institutions to help us all prepare for our most unique yield season yet.

SUMMARY:Region 3 Chat: Taking Care of You\, While You Take Care of Everything Else
DESCRIPTION:This has been a hard year for everyone\, and you’ve probably taken a lot of time to make sure your student ambassadors and staff are taken care of – encouraging breaks\, extended grace periods\, and understanding. But\, have you done the same for yourself? Take some time to chat and speak with professional peers and learn more about self-care and mental health tips. Hear how we can try to maintain our work-life balance while working in the place you likely live. Join Region 3 for our monthly discussion to share tips and tricks that have helped us over the past 6+ months as we head into the new year. We are not mental health professionals\, but we do want to share and connect what has worked for us!
