SUMMARY:Summer Series: Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion at a PWI and HSI\, Is there a Difference?
DESCRIPTION:In this session\, we explore diversity\, equity\, and inclusion for tour guides from both the perspectives of a predominantly White institution and a Hispanic serving institution. We will provide different tactics\, programming\, and opportunities for tour guides\, to gain awareness of their own identity\, therefore allowing students to better serve any campus visitor no matter their background\, beliefs and experiences. We tackle issues that tour guides face at a PWI and HSI. We recognize that cultural competency is different across higher education\, come learn how Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo face familiar but unique challenges. Come explore how CSUSB and Cal Poly tackle these hurdles.
