[civsa] Saturday Tour Visits

Hi Tiffany:
We offer tours 7 days/wk, both walking and via golf cart. Whereas we regularly schedule admission information sessions only on weekdays, we do select a number of Saturdays to offer an additional admission information session and student panel. This usually happens 4-6 Saturday per academic quarter, when it doesn't interfere with football games or other campus events. These sessions are led by student ambassadors rather than FTE admission staff; our accompanying "Student Forum" (informal discussion panel) is a popular component and easier to schedule/accommodate, so that people feel like they got more than "only a tour" without any insights. People seem to understand why FTE staff aren't present on weekends.

Happy Thursday, all!

I wanted to see if I could get some quick feedback regarding Saturday visits. Do any of you offer them? If so, are they the same as your regular weekday visits? Are offices (Admissions/Financial Aid, etc.) open?

A little background information: we host tours Monday- Friday at 3 different times. We have a biannual campus preview day (on a Saturday) but other than that, we are not open on the weekends. We have a family coming from out of state and can only be here on a Saturday (that is not our campus preview day) and we are doing our best to accommodate them however, they are upset that the university offices are not open.

I did suggest contacting offices they needed to speak to during regular business hours in case they had specific questions, but again, the expectation was to have offices open on Saturdays.

...just wanted to get some quick feedback about weekend visits and/or if you make exceptions for Saturday visits when there doesn't seem to be another option for the family to travel.
