At A-State, we use corrugated plastic yard signs (2'x2') on wire frames to direct parking. We have them printed on campus so they're cheap and easy to put out and take up.

Hello CIVSA!
How do you all handle parking signs, for instance for recruitment events? We've had our own set of coroplast signs, but we'd like to explore other options. Does anyone have experience with sandwich boards, the larger A frame with wheels, etc...?
Thank you!

Hello everyone,
I'm in the process of collecting data regarding how the concerns of prospective students/parents have (or have not) changed over the past year and half as it relates to our current political climate. I'm looking to get some more insight from a non-UC perspective and hear some of the comments or questions you all have been faced with.
1. Do you find counselors/tour guides being asked questions about the political climate on campus? This could also include free speech policies or student activism. If so, what types of questions are they asking?
2. How do you train either professional staff or student staff to handle these types of questions or concerns?
3. Have you been faced with the "I think your campus is too liberal/conservative for me/my student" comment before? If so, how do you respond?
4. For those of you who have been in your role longer than 2 years, have you observed any changes in the content or tone of questions that students/parents are asking about politics on campus since the 2016 election?
I'd love to hear any feedback you may have!

Hi CIVSA community!
We would like to offer a pay increase of $1/ hr to our Ambassadors who speak a second language, however we are limited this academic year to the student worker job levels and hourly pay rate that are already established.
Does your school offer a pay increase? If so, is it tied to a student worker pay level or is it separate from the already established level and written in the position description? Do you know of other offices on your campus that offer a second language pay increase?
Any information on the topic would be wonderful!
Thank you,
Trisha

At Oklahoma State University we host a Junior Day in April each year to attract those rising seniors. We host the event on campus and the purpose is discovery and getting to know our university. The morning is made up of a majors fair, a welcome session hosted our admissions counselors and then they can attend a session for the college of their choice. We also offer campus tours and residential life tours as well as information sessions in the afternoon.

Subject: [civsa] Events for Juniors?
Hello everyone,
My office is currently brainstorming ideas for a Junior Open House in the future - an event catered specifically for rising seniors. Do any of you have such an event? If so, what about it makes it unique from all of your other Open Houses and Preview Days etc.
I'm looking for any suggestions that might make it more interesting than just another student panel or faculty conversation etc.
Thank you!
