I'm seeking some assistance from those of you at medium to small sized institutions regarding visits and the ability to meet with an admission counselor. Here at Concordia, our current process is that most of our weekday visits are personalized where families can tour, meet individually with an Admission Counselor, and have appointments arranged to meet with faculty, coaches, etc. We have 8 admission counselors. We are at a point where our department leadership is requesting that we look into revising our visit model that would not require our admission counselors to give individual admissions appointments. We have utilized this "group presentation" strategy during peak visit times, but I'm curious to know if there are other similar schools who are only doing an admissions presentation on a daily basis? How do you handle students who have already applied, or perhaps are on a second visit? Do you receive any pushback from families? Do your counselors still feel that they are able to effectively connect with the prospective student/family? Any advice you could provide? For those of you who have stayed with an individual admissions model, how many staff do you have? What is your daily visit structure like? Approximately how many visitors per day can you accommodate? We have 3 campuses within our city - our main campus and then 2 smaller campuses, both a short drive from our main campus. Our transportation office offers shuttle service for our students between the campuses which we also use for transportation of tours to those campuses. One of our campuses is in our city's downtown area, can be difficult to find and you need to pay to park. Having students drive separately/on their own wouldn't work or be ideal in providing a good, pleasant visit experience for them. We are trying to figure out the best method for younger children to be safe & properly restrained during shuttle rides when visiting with their older siblings or parents. Since CIVSA is a wealth of knowledge, we're hoping that some of you will have suggestions on keeping our littlest visitors safe during the tours! Thank you! I put together a short qualtrics application for the students who are interested in attending. I will attached a PDF version (some of the logic will not appear in this version, but you will get a feel for the questions we asked). After the application deadline has passed, our student supervisors will have a meeting to review and select the students that will be attending the conference. Here is some criteria we will be comparing: * Length of service and leadership of the student. * Conference proposal idea(s). * Why they want to attend the conference. * Year in school (would prefer not to send seniors). * Whether they want to pursue a career in higher education. It has helped me a lot with coordinating visits and relieves me of the communication. It's a much more streamline process than we used before. I appreciate the analytics and survey feedback after each visit. We are currently trying to integrate it with our CRM. The staff at VD is also very helpful and reply quickly whenever you have questions. They recently upgraded their system and it's so easy to use :) Email me personally if you have any questions.
