Hi all,
We are planning our Fall Open House for this Saturday. We have two tabling sessions: Student Clubs Fair and then Academic Department Fair.
We have a long student union building so we can line up skinny 5' tables down the length of it. We can fit around 16 tables.
We contacted our VP of Clubs and Orgs to see who wanted to table at this event. We also asked our Student Ambassadors who are involved with clubs or orgs to contact their President and see if they wanted to table. It was first come, first serve for tables. (I made an excel doc with their club or dept name, the contact person, and which table number they were going to be occupying.) We also emailed the Deans of our 4 colleges to see who would like to table at the Academic Dept. Fair.
Recently, we had a college job fair and a career services fair and tabling was approached in a similar way. Those in charge of organizing the fair reached out to supportive organizations to table. Sometimes, we have Student Services tabling, too, depending on the event (like Orientation or our Wildcat Days-April events for seniors in high schools to visit school and get loads of info.) We even have our campus police table from time to time to let students know how to connect with them for help or for job opps.
Throughout the year, on-campus clubs, depts., etc. have the opportunity to table in our student union. At certain times during the year, off-campus groups are invited to table, as well.
Tabling times are set times on set dates and require permission from the hosting on-campus group.
Hope that helps!

Subject: [civsa] Information Fair/Tabling at Events
Hi CIVSA Friends!
I am curious about tabling at events in the information fair type format.
1. Do you do tabling at your events? If so, how do they work for you?
2. Do you not do tabling at your events? If not, what do you do instead so visitors can get collect information from several sources?
Thanks so much for your help!
Angela
