Happy Friday! Here at LIU Post, we only use electronic check in for big visit events, mostly to speed up the registration process. We also use iPads. We have 1-2 large events (300+ person) per month and using this system has dramatically improved our registration process. 

 We have 2 forms. One is for people who pre-registered- they fill out a few quick lines of information and the data is sent to our CRM, connecting their prior registration with the "showed up" registration. Our IT team builds us a new form before each event; its part of our event prep process. For walk-ins, they fill out a more detailed form that we merge with this "showed up" form.

We use a Surface to check students in, and utilize our vendor Visit Days. We can get information from them to input to PeopleSoft.

We liked their iPad check-in process, the clean layout and simplicity of it, as well as the ability to upload the data to our CRM. It had its limitations, sure, but we liked it.

This summer we switched to a different iPad check-in system as part of our change to a new CRM. To be honest though, many of us miss Envoy. Our new check-in system looks dated and often gets stuck in errors.

If you would like more information, let me know. I think Envoy would be worth looking at.

We use Slate - it has simplified our process tremendously! At our open house events our staff use tablets to check them in. For regular visit days our front desk checks them in on the PC. The only downside is that we don't get "updated" information.

Hi all,
          We are finally implementing Slate as our new CRM and we are so excited to get the ball rolling! I was hoping to get some advice from all of you who have already gone through this change. Is there any advice or things you wish you knew before implementing Slate on the visit side? Did slate make a big impact on how visits were managed in your offices? Any and all advice would be welcome.
