Our Campus Visit Coordinator sends out a weekly newsletter that includes notes from Yammer (our in-office social networking site), other important updates and the “Beyonce of the Week”. Tour Guides love being called out, so it seems like they pay attention to these emails. Here’s her most recent one:

***

ICYMI! Notes from Yammer: (please reference the Tour Guide Yammer group if looking for an attachment)
•From Ania: Hello! Our Tour Guides took a tour of the Cinema Art and Science new space on the 3rd floor. It's F*A*N*C*Y*! This space is designed to maximize COLLABORATION and provide space for students to hang out, brainstorm, and develop projects. There are also classrooms, labs, a 150-seat theater/classroom and CAS offices. Check it out next time you’re on the "South End".

Other Notes:
•Every department now offers in-depth tours! They are all listed on the Campus Visit page<http://www.colum.edu/admissions/visit-us/campus-tours.html>. CA+S, Dance, and Television remain the only departments offering pre-scheduled tours. (Refer to the quick-reference guides on phones for days/times.) All other departments offer these meetings/tours by appointment only.

•There is a copy of the Admissions slideshow on a USB bracelet in the packet drawer. The slideshow keeps getting deleted from the computer in the Ferguson, so we’ll need this during Saturday tours. Same as the slideshow in the TC, you need to right-click on it, and open it using Keynote version 5.3.

•For the time being, please tour Dwight for ResLife. Plymouth is to be used only as back-up.

•Thanks again for attending this past Saturday’s training! I hope you all walked away from it feeling inspired and empowered—there were lots of great takeaways.

•Important! Open House is Saturday, November 5! Tour Guides are expected to work this event; please let me know asap if you’re unavailable. More details to come on this!

Beyonce of the Week:
Kelsie! Two sets of parents told Janice how amazing, thorough, and informative she was on her Friday AM tour. Keep up the excellent work, Kelsie! Also, Lane, Natalie, and Rossella, who all gave awesome tours last week and graduated to full-time Guides! Congrats and great job!!!

Subject: [civsa] Newsletter Ideas

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for ideas for getting information to student ambassadors. Sending out emails with bullet points just doesn’t seem to be working anymore and meetings rarely happen to get everyone on the same page. Therefore, I’m looking for creative or fun ideas for a newsletter or some sort of fun email template that gives students important information or updates that they’ll actually read. Any suggestions?

Thanks all!
