[civsa] Communication with student tour guides

Hi Matty and CIVSA,

Like Jenn McKenzie at Hendrix College, the UK Visitor Center uses Slack<https://slack.com/is>.

I am not as familiar with other tools like Bubble so I cannot compare Slack to another platform. That said, as a free service, we have used it now for two years and have no plans to discontinue our use. The student staff take full advantage of it - especially in seeking shift coverage before posting it on WhenToWork<http://whentowork.com/index.htm>, our shift scheduling platform.

If it helps, I did write a Welcomer article<http://civsa.onefireplace.com/spring-2016-welcomer-bring-the-conversation-to-Slack> last spring regarding Slack (yes, a total plug for my own writing, but moreso for the Welcomer). It could give you some additional information about the benefits and challenges of the platforms.

How do you all communicate with your student tour guides? We are trying to enhance our modes of communication to something a bit better than just emailing. Do people use Bubble, Slack, etc.? Thoughts?
