Hi Tracy:
We use ChatterVox voice amplification systems, and have been happy enough with them. They consist of small amplifiers strapped around the waste and a headset with "concert-style" microphones. They are easy to use and pretty effective, except when it's windy (picks up sound on headset microphones).
We just purchased a couple of additional sets at about $200 each. They're available from various retailers, including some medical supply companies.
Hope this information is useful!
Best regards,

Subject: [civsa] Tour guide speaker systems
Hello Everyone!
We are updating our walking tours and are looking at purchasing a portable tour guide system for the guides to wear. Does anyone have any suggestions of what type to purchase? What system may sound the clearest? Best pricing & durability? Any suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
