All,

While I was wrapping up my first admissions cycle in 2008 I received a
letter from the Region One Director inviting me to a CIVSA conference at
Cal Poly Pomona, the first ever in California at the time.  Besides the
incredible learning opportunities I started to build an exceptional network
of professionals around the country.  It was a major turning point for my
career and launched me into a new position developing a brand new visitor
center/experience.

After missing Boston (2009) due to my new job, I returned to the CIVSA
conference in Lexington (2010).  In San Antonio (2011) I presented for the
first time on how I revamped our ambassador program (inspired by Ebony, OSU
and Jenn, Hendrix).  Before Denver (2012), I was asked by Stephen Barnett
to fill in for the vacant Regional Director position and continued in the
role through Alexandria (2013).  Though I've missed Chicago (2014),
Nashville (2015), and San Diego/Coronado (2016) I've appreciated the
opportunity to stay involved with committees (Nomination and Strategic
Planning) and to engage through social media.

Though the organization has grown it remains caring, engaged, and
supportive like no other group I've been a part of in my career.  If you're
in admissions and wear multiple hats with student workers, visitor centers,
events, and need to vent you know where to go.  For that, I must say thank
you from the bottom of my heart to the board, members, colleagues, and
friends I've made/met through this incredible community.  Where I am today
and where I am going is attributed to the outstanding talent, leadership,
and opportunities provided by this association.

Thus, it is with mixed emotions I announce I won't be renewing my
membership.  I am leaving Saint Mary's College this summer.  July 29th is
my last day.  Starting August 10th, I will be the new College Counselor at
Presentation High School, an all girls Catholic school in San Jose, the
heart of Silicon Valley.  Though this ends my professional membership with
this group, I am excited to work with many of you in a new capacity.  I
look forward to advising our young ladies to seek out your wonderful
campuses.

Whether I visit your campus (e.g. vacation, fly-in etc. ;) or you happen to
be the rep for our area (or interested in visiting us), I sincerely hope to
see you again soon.  It has been an absolute pleasure to be part of this
group and I will continue to sing it's praises.
