[civsa] Admissions Presentations Before or After Tour

Hi Jenny, we do a brief general overview prior to the campus tour (mainly so our Ambassadors are not bombarded with the basic questions - "how many students go to your school?" "do you offer scholarships?" etc...). We want our Ambassadors to focus on their student experience and tell their stories - not numbers and facts. Then, after the tour, the student meets with an Admissions Counselor to talk more specifics. We are a small, private school, so we have the staffing to be able to accommodate both before and after.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [civsa] Admissions Presentations Before or After Tour

Hi, all!

The Colorado School of Mines Admissions office is exploring some new ways to revamp our campus tour program and are curious to see who offers their advisement session before the tour versus after the tour. What are the benefits/challenges of what your school currently does?

We have always presented to the group AFTER the campus tour but have recently received some feedback suggesting that we meet with the students and families before they go out with our Ambassadors.

Thanks for the help! Have a great week!
