[civsa] School Excuse Letters

Good morning everyone!  Safe travels to those of you heading to Boston for our SDI.

I've seen quite the variety of requirements from schools.  The most common is ones who demand a seal.  But my former school and here at the U - we don't have seals... stickers, stamps, or otherwise.  I've had to call a few counselors on a student's behalf who didn't like the letter I gave or my signature without or in lieu of a seal and demand they approve the excusal.

That being said, regardless of what a student brings for an excusal, my staff also provide them with the attached form to take back to their office.

The most laughable caveat I saw from a HS was the stipulation that business cards were not sufficient proof of a campus visit and could not be attached to the excusal form.

Texas Tech is looking to update its school excuse letter/memo and I'm curious if anyone has some insight into high school preferences.  I know some colleges provide a 'certificate of attendance' or others a more formal letter.  Does anyone have an example they can share of what they provide to students or any experience with this?
