[civsa] New Student Orientation

Hi everyone,

We are currently in the planning stages of separating our New Student Orientation event into two events. Currently, our freshman students are required to attend a full day session (8 -5 ) and transfer students a half-day session. During this time, the typical orientation sessions as well as course registration is conducted.

Next year, we are wanting to separate the course registration piece form the other orientation sessions. We are considering offering several 2hr sessions for course registration earlier in the year/summer and the other sessions (orientation) closer to the beginning of classes.

I had a few questions:

*         Does anyone currently follow this format

*         Are any incentives offered to students for attending the orientation piece later in the summer

*         Are there penalties for those that only attended the class registration piece.
