At Lake Superior State University in Michigan, we offer Saturday tours
nearly every Saturday during the academic year, and then once monthly
during June, July and August. Our Saturday tours are very popular. Those
held in the summer months are even more popular! People are sometimes
disappointed that we don't offer Sunday tours, in fact!
We try to schedule faculty visits on Saturday when faculty are willing.
Some are, some are not. More and more are becoming more willing though, I
think largely from seeing how popular the tours are and realizing that
they're missing out on an opportunity to recruit for their department.
Parking and sporting events are not a problem for us, so overall, our
Saturday tours are very successful.
