Hi Emilie,

A few tips that might help you and others:


1.       Start meeting and building a connection with the Alumni Association. You will want their assistance in finding the right alums. It's easier for you to work with one person from the Alumni office who can then work with all the other alums than you trying to reach out to everyone on your own.

2.       Reach out to your most recent graduates who worked in your office (former tour guides or student assistants). They are great because they are recent grads and know the school/admissions.

3.       See what the Alums are interested in doing. Don't force alums to do college fairs if that is not what they feel comfortable doing.

4.       Reward and recognize their efforts. Even something as a letter of thanks from the President of the school goes a long way.

We are considering creating a volunteer alumni recruiter program in areas outside of our normal travel territories and in some of our smaller, tight-knit communities.
