[civsa] Ambassador Program - Creating Leadership Roles

Hi Rachel!

Our leadership program has been around for about three years. Your email comes at a great time, as we just made some changes for the upcoming year:

-       Renamed the group from “Executive Board” to “Leadership Team”

-       Moved communication and event planning under the purview of the Overall Leadership Director. This decision was made after we found there was a lack of consistent responsibilities for the Director of Events and Director of Communication positions.

Here’s a simplified list of anticipated responsibilities for the upcoming school year:

-       Overall Leadership Director: maintains overall leadership, creates semester schedule, leads planning of staff meetings, assists in scheduling off-campus events, manages morale and incentive programs

-       Director of Tours: monitors quality of tours, proposes changes to route/information, ensures tour guide material is up-to-date, manages staff tour tryouts

-       Director of Operations: leads VC operations/office, assists in management of daily operations (check-in, phones, mailings, appointments, etc.), ensures materials in office are current, makes suggestions to increase efficiency

-       Director of Wildcat Ambassador Student Organization: responsible for overseeing scheduling, event planning, and recruitment of the Wildcat Ambassador organization (unpaid student volunteers, excludes Visitor Center paid staff/tour guides)

None of the student directors have disciplinary/supervisory responsibilities; they work closely with our Visitor Center Associate Director and myself, should anything come to their attention.

Hello from Shenandoah University!
We are going to be implementing a "leadership committee" within our Hornet Ambassador Program.

Like a President, VP, Secretary, Historian, etc....

Does anyone have an organizational chart, list, or a brief description of each of the leadership roles within their Ambassador Program?
