[civsa] Campus/Group Tours During the Summer

We deal with the heat down here in Gainesville every year. I'd love to say we cancel our afternoon tours in the summer, but the demand is just too high. We send out several messages about preparing for heat prior to people visiting over the summer and always ask visitors when they check in if they have water, hat, etc. Most people who live in Florida understand what they're getting into, but we take special care to make sure our out of state visitors understand. While many of them are used to seeing high temperatures, they may not be prepared for the humidity. I'm actually looking at getting flexible water bottles to have on hand that we can give to people who didn't come prepared (something like this - http://vapur.us/co-brand) that they could fill in the water fountain.

Hello All,

I am currently looking at the scheduling of my campus tours in the summer and was wondering if any of you deviate from your traditional tour times due to heat? In San Antonio it gets really hot during the summer months, so I am thinking of eliminating my afternoon daily tour and group tour. Do you happen to just add additional times in the morning if you are having similar issues? Any feedback would be appreciated.
