[civsa] Lunches during daily visits

Hi Joel,
We offer lunch to our morning visitors only. We do not advertise this as there are days the dining halls are closed. The end of the tour is housing/dining so we tell our morning guests that we are treating them to lunch.
The dining hall gives us a box of meal tickets. It’s $8/ticket however we are only charged when the ticket is used.
Depending on the size of the group and especially for our events, we use both dining halls.
I’ll admit that this is one of our more costly items in our annual budget.
Thanks,
Brett Hartnagel

Subject: [civsa] Lunches during daily visits
Good afternoon and happy Friday!
I am curious what other schools do relative to lunch for visitors during a typical daily visit (not open houses). When you offer lunch as an option, do you provide meal passes/vouchers to just the student? The whole family? Make them pay on their own? Give them a discounted price/coupon?
This is most common for us during an extended visit when they might do a tour, presentation, faculty/coach meeting, etc. We’re just trying to find best practices!
Thanks!
