That's an unpleasant surprise, Scott. So far, no such charges at University of Washington for disability services. The requests are rare.
Below is a copy of an event confirmation. At the bottom is advice about disability services. UW will not rent wheelchairs on behalf of a party. The guest(s) must do so because of liability concerns.

PARKING
If you are driving, we recommend that you arrive to campus at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled visit. Upon arrival, please visit one of the gatehouse locations below to purchase a permit. The parking specialist will direct you to a parking lot.
* 15th Ave NE and NE 41st Street
* NE 45th St and Memorial Way
* 15th Ave NE and Grant Lane
* Pend Oreille Road, off Montlake Ave NE
The daily parking fee is $15.00 on the weekdays and $5.00 on Saturdays (some variations may apply). Parking is prorated. If your stay is less than four hours, you may return to the gatehouse for a partial refund. Except on major event days, such as home football games, parking on Saturdays after 12:00 noon is complimentary.

WEATHER
Weather in Seattle is typically mild. During extreme weather conditions, please visit the UW homepage<http://www.washington.edu> to ensure that the campus is open. In the event that campus is closed, admissions activities will be cancelled.

Subject: [civsa] Interpreting Services
Friends the craziest thing happened to me just this morning. The Disability Services office is charging Admissions for interpreting services! Yes, you read that right.
I am floored, in the three previous schools I've worked at, interpreting services was always provided to guests on tours free of charge.
Am I crazy? Have I been spoiled? Or are others in the same boat as me here at Utah?
