Via the ADA they are required to provide the services free of charge for matriculating activities like Orientation.  But, for a prospective student visiting that needs services, they can - and often do - request that the cost for those services be recouped.  Hence the office requesting the services tends to be charged to cover the cost.  If they gave them to you free at the other universities they probably did so as a courtesy or prior agreement :).

Friends the craziest thing happened to me just this morning.  The Disability Services office is charging Admissions for interpreting services!  Yes, you read that right.

I am floored, in the three previous schools I've worked at, interpreting services was always provided to guests on tours free of charge.

Am I crazy?  Have I been spoiled?  Or are others in the same boat as me here at Utah?
