Hi Tracy,

This year at The King’s University we recruited a student for a new volunteer position of “Lead Residence Host” who’s job is to find suitable placements for all of our overnight visitors. He’s responsible for training the hosts and checking guests in to the dorms and he became the first point of contact for any issues or questions that arose outside of programmed hours. He was also given a mini fridge and budget for snacks to keep in his room for all the hosts and guests to enjoy during each event. Since creating this position I have had zero issues with hosts, so I’d strongly encourage anyone with overnight visits to try this. It’s been so helpful for us.

Good Morning!

We just had our admit weekend event, and had issues with getting enough overnight hosts.  I would be interested in how other schools go about getting hosts for events in the spring when the students are so busy.
